Journal: My 30th Year

30journal.jpg

I’ve been creating visual journals since high school, but I rarely share what I make in them. I love creating layers, playing with watercolors, acrylic paints, mixing media and documenting life. My journals were always really large, and I used to lug them around from class to class. As I got older, I stopped carrying my journals and they kinda fell off my radar unless I was at home working.

For my 30th birthday last year, I purchased a smaller more portable journal with the goal of more regularly updating and sharing it. I am proud to say, I made it through my first one of this size! Here is the full flip through the book:

Some of my favorite pages are here in this gallery. You can see all the pages through this hashtag on instagram: #beatenpressjournal30.

I cannot wait to see my collection of journals grow.

If you're interested in starting a journal like this, I suggest lookin at "Draw Your Day" by Samantha Dion Baker. I also plan on hosting a workshop in August about it. You can find our more about that class here.
