Journal: My 31st Year

31Journal.jpg

Last year was the first full year I’ve completed a journal like this. Check out my 30th year here. I am so glad that I kept up with this journal plan. It’s really fun to flip back through them. Also – if you noticed, I chose to go from birthday to birthday instead of starting in January each time. Here is a flip through of my 31st year’s journal:

Some of my favorite pages from the last year are below! I often forget pages I work on by the end of the year. I’ve also started working in them a little quicker than I used to. It makes me want to expand a year into two journals, but I think think shifting that much might get overwhelming.

I’ve also experimented more this year with pages more reminiscent of the journals I did through high school and college. I am trying to strike the right balance between daily entries and mixed media collages. Check out this hashtag to see all the spreads on instagram: #offthebeatenpress31.

I’ve also started teaching classes about four times a year in this journal making method. I call the class “Sketchbook Diaries.” You can see upcoming sessions over at the VisArt’s center’s website here.
