Sketchbook Diaries Student Work 2019

2019 was the first year I started teaching sketchbook diaries at the Visual Art Center. I have been working in journals since I was in high school and took a lot of my inspiration from my art teacher Mr. Scott. Now that I am an adult, I can call him Eric and he still teaches his method of visual journaling and has written TWO books!

A few years ago though, I adapted from my high school ways to a more diary method. I also changed journal sizes to a smaller book that I was more diligent about carrying. With this change, I decided to start teaching others about how I do it. always made journals and was excited to share how I make them with some students.

After I developed a little guidebook, I started trying it out in classes. It’s been a lot of fun spreading the tools I love and this method of diary keeping. I hope to have more classes in 2020.
