Letterpress: Tree Puns

These cards were so much fun to make. I started with the paper. A friend gifted me this lovely bark textured paper that I used for some “knock on wood” prints a few years ago.

Then I finally got the idea to do a tree pun set and use up the rest of the paper. I had some coworkers help me write the puns and got to work.

There are six total cards. I used green ink and paired them with clover colored envelopes. My logo and details are on the back but the interior is blank.

They are are all positive or encouraging. I kicked it off with “You’re Tree-mendous.”

“Be-leaf in yourself” is paired with two little leaves.

“Don’t worry, be sappy” was a little bit of a stretch but my brother’s in laws were just making maple syrup and it felt right.

Probably my favorite was written by my friend Stef: “I love you so mulch.”

And then a classic tree pun, “I pine for you.”

And last, but not least we have “Wood you be mine?”

I am obsessed with these cards and hope you love them too. You can pick up a pack OR individual cards over in my Etsy shop.
