Recently in Richmond, a new workspace opened up called We the Broad. If you live anywhere in the city you should totally check it out. I am so thankful they reached out to have me teach a calligraphy workshop with them because the group that came through was so much fun!
Not to mention the gorgeous space! I just love the light and how open it is. It made teaching there a dream.
I had around ten students who all asked fabulous questions.
Normally, I teach with a white board, but I tried something new with this class and used my iPad to demonstrate strokes & lessons.
We called the workshop “Getting Handsy” so here are some of those hands at work.
For this workshop, I also did a little custom lettered piece that I handed out to students to trace. We got to work through that at the end of class.
If I get the opportunity to teach at We the Broad again, I will certainly jump on it. I am so thankful more creative spaces want to host workshops in this city!
