23Dec
One of my favorite family traditions is Christmas Eve Eve. We go somewhere special, like a museum, aquarium, or science center (anywhere in the area that has something new & cool we haven’t seen) in the Washington DC area. Afterwards we always get an awesome meal of some kind.  This year (which was actually celebrated on the 22 because of reservations) we went to the Museum of Natural History to see the new Dome Pedro Aquamarine! It is the largest aquamarine in the world at 10,363 carats! Super impressive. I also saw some lovely gems shaped like letters and a life size model of what a Titanoboa (48 foot snake) would look like.
Following the museum, we went to Jaleo to enjoy 14 courses of awesome food! One of my favorite courses, in flavor and plating, was chicken croquettes served in a shoe!
