Over the past two weekends, it has finally felt like fall. To enjoy the weather, I hit up two wineries, one distillery and one brewery!
The first winery was Hiddencroft Vinyards. The tasting was great because they even gave samples of food to pair with their wines. I purchased a blackberry wine that I intend to mix with some sparkling cava for flavor.
Then we went to 868 Estate Vinyards. They had a great patio set up with corn hole boards and an area for a picnic. We didn’t get to spend a long time there so I would love to go back and take an entire afternoon with a bottle of wine.
We drove all the way out to Sperryville with friends to see Copper Fox Distillery. The had hourly tours and were packed the day we stopped in. The leaves around were changing and it was warm so I think everyone in Virginia had the same mindset as us.
They do everything there and have great relationships with local farmers and restaurants.
They dip their tops in red wax and have to be careful not to get any drips down the bottle so there are not copy write infringements from a certain famous distillery.
The sun was so glowy.
Across the street was a new brewery called Pen Druid. They had actually sold out of a lot of the beers I wanted to try, but they had a fire pit going and the company was wonderful.
