One of my coworkers at my full time gig came to me with this logo design project. I love branding design because it is always incredibly challenging. When working with this church, I had to have him be the sole communicator with me for a large committee that was making the ultimate calls on things. This was vastly important because it is so so difficult to please a large group of people with a logo design. I frequently work with one sole business owner, not a full group. We went through my traditional three rounds of logos. In round one, I only work in black and white marks. Here was what I sent over:
They loved logo two because it was more traditional. I drew the icon from the shape of the hill and thought of it more like a bookmark you would place in a Bible. In round two, I added color and proceeded to refine to the final mark.
I did a lock up a few different ways for them so they could use it in a variety of locations. We had to ensure it could be used simply on shirts and embroidery and had enough interest for large banners. I am happy on the colors we settled on and they translated really nicely to the web site!
