Kyle and Shelby were a great couple to work with for their wedding invitations. Shelby wrote me a lovely email describing her vision for the day. She shared that they would be working with blues and have delft china decorating the venue.

As soon as she said that, I was off and running. The first thing I did was mock up a fake version of an invitation for them using patterns I saw on the vintage plates. Once they agreed on the direction, I watercolored my own delft patterns.

I scanned in my files and started making an envelope liner pattern using a small area I had watercolored.Delft Blue Wedding Invitations | offthebeatenpress.com

Then I laid out the rest in InDesign and sent over a proof.

When I got them back from the printer, I was ecstatic! They came out beautifully. I still have to cut all the liners myself by hand, but it was worth it.

They are getting married this weekend and I cannot wait to see how they all came together. I also worked on their program so I am hoping to get some shots of that from the wedding day.

I think the liners might be my favorite part.
