When I was a little girl, my grandmother took my brother and I to have our faces cast. We were in Canada at the time, near our home in Alma. My parent’s didn’t know we were doing it. My uncle & grandmother took us over to the studio without them. I remember it being really hot

So I am doing a series of illustrations (for now its called “the burly men”) that I hope to turn into letterpress prints or screenprints…The first one is a Sailor.


I got the die made for this print last fall. A few months later when I went to print it, my friend Emily noted how I spelled something wrong. This is classic me. I always spell things wrong – I focus so much on how it looks & the spacing without taking time to check
