Aligning Artwork
Over the past six months, I took a Discipleship course with my church in Richmond. The course was called “Aligning” and was designed “for those of us who want to align their internal and external lives.” We spent time diving into our personal enneagrams, trying different styles of prayer and learning about our emotionally healthy spirituality.
Each Tuesday I met with my cohort and delicately dissected different aspects of our lives, and relationships with friends, family and God. I loved the time I spent with my group and am so thankful for the opportunity to have taken this class.
For our last week we were tasked with making a project with the theme “This is me.” If you knew me 15 years ago, you'd recognize that this piece is truly representative of the artwork that I used to make daily. I frequently miss creating things like this so the assignment was a perfect time to look back in order to move forward.
Throughout the piece, I highlighted things I learned during the last six months. After making this I am certainly inspired to pick up this type of art more often again, especially as I've stopped a lot of other small business projects (a result of some things I learned in this class).
Hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about what it all means, I'd be happy to engage about it.
