Colors of New York Watercolor
New York has been in the works for way longer than I’d care to admit. It was actually one of the first ones I started but I pivoted away and took care of some others first, so it felt good to actually have this one wrapped.
I wanted to make sure that New York didn’t just highlight things from the city, after all, it is a huge state. So I looked at native flora & fauna, mountains and food goodies. I pulled colors of water from the Hudson, Erie Canal and Niagara. I also made sure to highlight the greens from the Adirondacks, Mt Mary and the Catskills.
I did highlight the city right at the bottom of the list in a little line. The taxi cab is one of my favorites on the page with the black & white stripes.
I hope if you are from New York, I did your state some justice. I really like how the set looks all together and am proud to have it hanging on my wall in my home.
Colors of New York is listed for sale on Etsy so you can pick up a print over there.
Check out the rest of the state series I have completed so far: Colors of Virginia | Colors of California | Colors of Oregon | Colors of Maine | Colors of Colorado | Colors of Florida. I will have more to come soon.
