For Halloween this year, I decided to throw a party. I built a passthrough between my kitchen and my living room this summer and wanted to show off the digs to friends from other cities who hadn't visited yet. The first thing I did was make a wreath for my front door. I bought this wood wreath years ago and have used it over and over again with the changing seasons.For halloween, I bought black florals and sprayed it lightly with gold for contrast. All of the supplies cost me under 10 bucks. I used a wire cutter to trim all the florals apart and then placed them at random.I found a wood sign at target and lettered with gold sharpie. I used some of the leftover floral wire to attach the sign to the wreath too. Everything is removable so I can save it and use it again in the future!Inside my house I got inexpensive paper bats to decorate my wall leading into the kitchen. Simple and effective.I set up a wine and cocktail station under my kitchen cabinets. I found some googly eyes and went a little crazy using them to decorate. They turned out pretty cute though.My boyfriend helped me with lighting the day of the party. We set up a black light underneath my tulle skirt and filled a chemistry set with tonic water to get this awesome glowy effect.We ended up using that same blue glow in the living room later in the night and it tied it together really well. I used my "eyeball theme" to decorate rice krispie treats and lettered on my chalkboard door.Then we changed into our Stranger Things costumes and waited for guests to arrive. We made for a pretty accurate Mike and Eleven if I do say so myself.Overall the set up for this party was much easier than the one he and I threw for New Years. I also had tons of friends help with clean up (yay!). I may just have to throw a few more get togethers if I could guarantee it being as simple as this Halloween was!
