Happy Mother & Father's Day Cards
I had neglected making both Mother's & Father's day cards for a while. Two months ago I found some grey paper on sale and was saving it for a project. When some square envelopes also went on sale, I figured it was a perfect time to get around to making cards for Moms & Dads.
I chose a simple san serif font for printing. The lockup was very simple and it made switching out the words in the middle a piece of cake. I used magnets and printed it on a proofing press.
Since I printed on flat cards, I cut some larger white paper and fastened the two together using a little silver brad. Each car swivels open. Since they were so simple, I thought it’d be fun to have something asymmetrical and different about them
Honestly, the longest part of doing these was the brad setting! The lock up and printing time flew by.
I am quite a fan of how these came out. I printed around a hundred of each one - though as I’ve sold them I have found that people are much more likely to send Moms a card than Dads!
