Historic Pole Green Church Styled Shoot
I was really excited to work with some other local vendors for this styled shoot. It took place in August at Historic Pole Green Church in Mechanicsville. Ruie + Grace coordinated the whole thing and did a truly incredible job. When they first emailed me about the styled shoot, I knew I had to do it based on their description of the day. I like working with vendors that trust you and let you design things the way you like. Here is the final invitations suite I designed. I used a dark grey linen paper for the flat invites and a cement grey for the envelopes. I lined the inside of the envelopes with a gold texture to provide contrast.I love simple typography and wanted to invoke the 1 inch wood letters I so frequently get to use on the letterpress. The church where the shoot took place is beautiful. It was an insanely hot day and I got there right when they were installing this gorgeous grey dyed piece between the windows of the church. The grey centerpiece provided an beautiful backdrop for all of the photos throughout the day.The table layout was gorgeous, filled with different glasses. It had beautiful colors that glowed as the light started to fade during the day.For the shoot, I used remnants from my stained glass project as place cards. They were all triangles in marbles whites and blacks with gold lettering that matched the interior of the envelopes.I loved how their bar cart was displayed in the golden sun.The pies came from Mom's Apple Pie in Leesburg where I frequently visited growing up in Northern Virginia. These pies are delicious and the warmth of the crusts make me so hungry just looking at it.One final shot of the invites. In this photo you can truly see the texture of linen in the letters. I would love to use paper like this again sometime soon, I just have to find the perfect couple to use it with!
