Letterpress Print It Is Well With My Soul

“It is well with my soul” is one of my favorite hymns. I set this in wood & metal type in one lock up so I could print it easily in one pass of the letterpress machine. This lock up photo is very old (from my cell phone in 2012!).

I ran the form through on a Challenge Proofing Press and then trimmed the single piece of paper once it was dried.

I chose grey ink to go on some butter yellow linen paper. I love the way the ink shows on the linen. The final prints are 5x7 inches. I have them framed in my house as a set.
