Letterpress: Coral Thank You Cards

CoralThankYouCards.jpg

These coral thank you cards were printed to accompany a Havana Inspired wedding suite I had made for a sprint wedding. You can see the full wedding invitation suite here.

When this bride first approached me about thank you cards, I was originally going to design something that was digitally printed. However, I had just set these little letters in Broadway, a typeface that strongly resembled what is on her invitations. I sent her the image next to my coffee and we decided it was close enough to get a matching set.

I mixed up coral ink that strategically matched her invitation suite envelopes. It was such a beautiful color that I reused it later in the same day on some dogwood flower cards. Of course, when I delivered the cards over to her, I sent some of these floral ones along too.

I printed the thank you cards on some Neenah white canvas finish paper that matched some envelopes I already had in stock.

Three Thank Yous

I just love the finish of this paper. The wide type in particular looks so gorgeous with the slab typeface used. The bride had considered using this paper for the entire suite, but since the invites had a heavily illustrated border, we opted for a flat stock. I am glad it worked out that she got to use the texture she loved so much somewhere along the way.

The other benefit to using this paper is how easy it is to write on. Often some of the thick letterpress papers don’t play nice with all pens. This paper works with even just a basic bic perfectly.

On the day I printed these cards, I filmed a little bit about the process. You can see the full video in my Instagram Stories! This is a direct link to the whole film reel.

I printed extra thank you cards and am selling them on Etsy in packs of 10! Grab a stack to keep on hand for all the thanks you need to give.
