Letterpress: When skies are grey
I come back to this song again and again. I suppose anyone who heard it as a kid has some kind of nostalgia about it. It was first Friday last week and it was a bit dreary so I had this stuck in my head. I set this to print at the art center and then brought it home and printed the it on Preston the Platen (the Chandler and Price in my kitchen).
Here is the lock up of the letters together in the chase. I barely had to space everything out to get the broadside vibes happening.
I used an antique gold ink and some grey paper that I had gotten on sale at Paper Source. I was saving the cards for awhile and am glad I found a reason to use them.
I ordered some matching antique gold envelopes online. I looked for some that had the same darker vintage look instead of a bright shine.
The cards came out wonderfully and are great to mail or simply to frame on their own (which I totally did in my guest room) Pick one up in my Etsy shop today. I also plan on saving one for Mother’s Day this year.
