Letterpress: Psalm 118:24

My coworker Angela had commissioned this print for her new house. I set all the type with a condensed 2 inch wood paired with a smaller 48 pt metal type. The final size for the print was 15 x 15 inches.

I laid out and locked in all the type and printed it first in Willamsburg Brown on both brown & cream paper. When I was done, I realized it needed something else. The negative spaces were just too empty. I added the leaves after mixing a custom green. Each leaf was printed individually and run through the press on a separate pass. Total, this poster went through the machine 4 times. There were some challenge in the size and locking up of the type in unusual locations, but I am grateful for the opportunity to work on it.
