Screeprinting: In the Details

Going through one by one and highlighting some old work. I made this piece while I was in college and was testing out some new techniques. To get the colored solid pieces in this print, I cut out large chunks of paper and exposed the screen around them.

To add the black, I cut out a linoleum block, made a single print from it and then scanned it into the computer before exposing the screen. I loved the textured grooves you got from carving and wanted to try and replicate that at at bigger level.

Here is a quick close up shot of the print. I was wearing a pretty creative scarf in the reference photo for this print.
