Student work: Holiday card worskshop
Every year I teach a holiday card workshop. It's one of my favorite classes because we have a huge variety of Christmas themed vintage cuts at the studio and I get to pull them out to play with. I also tend to hold the workshop on marathon day, so when we are working inside nice and toasty, we get to see the crazy runners outside! Last year, I had some of my coworkers take my workshop, but this year, it was all strangers.
I loved the use of borders on this card. I helped this student with some of the detailing work (like adding in the little asterisks in-between the letters of MERRY for flair).
This student used a cut in the center and then set type around it. And after thinking she hated wood type, this student settled in on some gorgeous wood letters for Merry & Bright.
This was my last letterpress class of the year. I can't wait to start up again in January!
