My friend from college got married over the weekend in New Jersey! A group of us from Virginia drove up and got a hotel the night before attending at the Brownstone. Her wedding was beautiful and a blast. The colors she had for the flowers and bridesmaid dresses just popped! Here are some of us awaiting the ceremony. She had a waffle bar and a cannoli cake. I was in heaven. The blushing bride and I.And a bunch of JMU DUKES. Their wedding hashtag was #fromjmutoido. To get the most out of the weekend, we got an AirBnb in NYC! Most of the trip consisted of checking off delicious food places. I had brunch reservations to Butter and we got our favorite soup dumplings! I needed a weekend to indulge a little.I also tried to get some good black and white pics. This was my first time in Grand Central:A late night bar we found where I had a delicious rum and champagne drink named after Cuba.My boyfriend awaiting the train.I also walked across the Brooklyn Bridge for my first time.Just so you know, it is a much MUCH longer walk than I had anticipated. My feet were exhausted that night after our day running about. I should have been wearing a pedometer! The highline. We wandered before the show we went to that night. This was the highlight of the trip for me: Sleep No More. I had wanted to go last year when my boyfriend and I had visited New York, but was worried about the experience being so new in our relationship. This time around though, I was determined to go and I am so thankful we did! What a mysterious and epic evening. We started with drinks in The McKittrick Hotel before being ushered in to watch a noir interactive performance. I love talking about it so if you are curious, ask me more! I don't want to give away too much for other hotel guests. Our final day, we saw an empty Times Square.Per my mom's suggestion, we found Levain Bakery and got breakfast and bought cookies to go! These things were amazing. I will try to be recreating the cookies for sure when I am back.We didn't have time before the train to see all of The Guggenheim Museum, but I got some nice pictures of the architecture.I was excited with how warm it was! Everythign looked like fall but didn't feel brisk and chilly. It made the long city walks much more enjoyable. The door to our Airbnb. So modern and gorgeous. We lucked out and stayed in an amazing place that was incredibly private. I will keep it bookmarked for future trips! And then back in Washington, DC.
