Deck Stain

Updates on the house have been slow. But over the past few weeks, I have done a lot! This past weekend, I tackled staining my deck.

I bought the stain last year. The color is Cedar Naturaltone. My deck was so washed out without anything on it and I tend to lean more to darker stains but the warmth this one had reached out to me. Every time I tried to do stain my deck last fall, it rained. I would power wash my deck in anticipation for the weekend and then the whole time, it would just pour. Here is my back deck beforehand.

Finally, I caught a break. The weather said it was supposed to rain, but when I woke up, I was surrounded by clear skies. My dad let me use a sprayer which made the back deck go by super quickly. But it got clogged when I ran out to get more stain making the rest of the day go really slow. I ended up having to use a brush and roller.

Overall though, it looks great. I see the areas that some stain hit the house or I could have cleaned up a little bit, but nobody else notices. And from the street - it really brightened it up! In this picture, you can see the hay laid down on top of new grass seed! I hope to have some green in there in the next few weeks.

I also finally attached some house numbers. It was about time !
