Travel: Carnival Cruise
I get tons of TravelZoo emails all the time. When I knew I was in dire need for a vacation I just watched for deals to pop up. Soon enough, a 6-night cruise appeared that I knew would be perfect. It left out of Baltimore, so I knew I didn't need to fly anywhere! I called my friend Kaitlyn, and three months later, we were off! Here is our ship docked in Nassau. It was pretty big! She and I spent most of the time eating and reading up on deck. The Polar Vortex that hit the east coast did make its way down to Florida while we were there but not all the way to the Bahamas, so we did get to enjoy warm weather while our friends and families were back home freezing! The ship was really beautiful. We got familiar with the layout quick and enjoyed our time one the decks! We first stopped in Disney! Kaitlyn was kind enough to let me go to The Magic Kingdom. I hadn't been since the Blizzard of '96 so I was thankful to see it all again. It was a little chilly but I was determined to wear shorts. I think all the staff there thought I was crazy as they were in sweaters and gloves!Next stop was Nassau & Paradise Island. Kaitlyn had just been with her sister so she knew the lay of the land. I made sure to ride EVERY SLIDE! I don't know if I'll ever be back so I wanted to make sure I really enjoyed myself. We walked through the aquariums and spend the afternoon on the beach. We were the only cruise ship docked so we had the place to ourselves! The final stop was Grand Bahama. We took a cab to a beach close by for five bucks. I got my hair braided on the beach and we chatted a lot about what the future holds for us. It was glorious. Click on any of the pictures below to see them larger!I have only been on Royal Caribbean and remember loving it. Carnival was really nice too. A lot more of the guests like to party than other ships and there are some amenities that we didn't take advantage up because it wasn't up our ally, but for the price, I would certainly try it again.
